While having a hard time water-skiing, the boy commented, ‘This is such a drag.’

LakeL is for Lake – L – L – Lake!

A little over two years ago, we moved to our current house, leaving behind a much smaller house that sat on a lake.  One of the reasons of moving to this area was to be closer to my sister-in-law and her family.  While we debated it and said, “but we live on a lake” she responded with the hundreds of lakes in the area.  And this is one of them.

A short 30 minute drive from our house and it felt like a beautiful paradise.  A beautiful mountain scenery, soft sandy beach, and low incline into the water were all the perfect elements for a stress-free lake experience.

I could sit peacefully, gazing adoringly at my happy, playing mini-ions while they played and played and played.  We’ve gone twice, and those were two of my favorite days this summer so far.  It was easy, with no tantrums and no fighting.  Just happy playtime at the lake.

While Mini-ion #1 still hasn’t dunked his head under the water, these easy introductions into the water are making him more and more comfortable with it.  I am confident, some day, on his terms, he’ll make the “jump” into water.  Until then, I patiently wait.
